Audience: Headteachers, Senior Leaders, Governors, senior staff and others who are involved in staff recruitment for schools

This course will provide:

The Safer Recruitment Training is statutory guidance for those involved in recruiting in schools (whether full or part time, paid or unpaid staff). This face-to-face workshop is suitable for staff new to safer recruitment or as a refresher for staff who have previously attended this training. It is advised to renew the certificate every two years.

Participants will receive a delegate workbook and certificate following completion of the course.

 

Programme/Module Outline:

By the end of the workshop, participants should: 

  • Have an awareness and understanding of offending behaviour
  • Be able to identify key features of staff recruitment that help to deter or prevent the appointment of unsuitable people
  • Consider policies and practices that minimise opportunities for abuse or ensure its prompt reporting
  • Begin to review their own and their organisation's policies and practices
